Pregnancy Adjustments
At the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, we are committed to ensuring that all Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, regardless of pregnancy or parenting status, have equal access to education and workplace opportunities. Whether you are navigating pregnancy, childbirth, or a related condition, we provide reasonable adjustments to support your success at UM. These adjustments are designed to help you maintain academic progress and work-life balance without facing unnecessary barriers or discrimination.
Support for Pregnant Students
We understand that pregnancy can present unique challenges. The Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ offers a range of support options for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, which may include:
- Allowing for frequent restroom trips
- Deadline extensions
- Alternatives to make up missed work
- Leniency in attendance/participation for medically necessary absences (including doctor’s appointments, labor, and recovery)
- Priority registration
- Virtual/at-home instruction options (if available to non-pregnant Ñý¼§Ö±²¥)
Adjustments are individualized to meet the student's needs and are reasonably applied within the educational setting.
