Closed captions

Closed captions are a textual representation of the meaningful audio in a media file. ODE provides captioning services for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ who require captioned media by working with faculty.

How Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ request captioned media

  • Email your course schedule each semester in advance to the primary contact.

Process

  1. At least one month before the semester starts, the primary contact will email faculty, notifying that Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ with captioned media accommodations are enrolled in their courses.
  2. Upon receiving faculty's response, ODE will add captions to media instructional materials and deliver them to faculty.

Student responsibilities

Promptly inform the primary contact of captioned media about the following:

  • Your finalized course schedule as soon as it is available.
  • Any changes to your course schedule, including drop, add, and withdrawal adjustments during the semester.
  • If you don't need the service anymore.
  • If you have concerns about captioned media you received.
