Mansfield Library

The Mansfield Library offers a ruggedized action cam as well as a 360 cam to borrow for personal and academic / institutional use.

Included vlogging kit consisting of a lavaliere microphone, and a handle that serves as a supplementary battery.

Included 85 cm invisible selfie stick and additional battery.

Use Information

Eligibility: 

  • Only currently enrolled Ñý¼§Ö±²¥, faculty, and staff members of the university are eligible to borrow the cameras.
  • Borrowers must have a valid university ID card and a library account in good standing.

Reservation and Loan Period:

  • Cameras must be reserved by contacting library.studiosupport@umontana.edu in advance.
  • The loan period is determined by use needs, typically one week or less.
  • Specific use dates are booked as available. Request arrangements as far in advance as possible.

Usage Guidelines:

  • Borrowers are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the equipment's setup, instructions, and safety guidelines.

Liability, Overdue and Damage:

  • Borrowers are responsible for any loss, damage, or theft of the equipment while in their possession.
  • A penalty fee or replacement cost will be charged for any lost, damaged, or unreturned  components or accessories.
  • Improper resets or jailbreaking units will result in replacement charges being assessed.
  • Modification in any way will result in replacement charges being assessed.
  • Equipment replacement charges will be based on the current cost of replacement components plus shipping from the manufacturer.
  • Should an unforeseen event occur that prevents you from returning the equipment on time, contact library.studiosupport@umontana.edu to speak with the program manager so that reservation holders may be notified.
  • All equipment is the property of the Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ and remains so under state law even if replacement costs are assessed and paid.

Account, Data and Privacy:

  • Footage may require use of proprietary software released by the respective hardware company.
    • Read all end-user license agreements carefully before agreeing. 
  • Borrowers should promptly report any technical issues or concerns to library staff so that a replacement unit (if available) can be exchanged and staff can troubleshoot the problem.
