Statement of Interest (SOI): Biological Control of Cycad Scale, Aulacaspis Yasumatsui, on Cycas Micronesia Responses to this Request for Statements of Interest (RSOI) will be used to identify potentialRecipients for a project to be funded by the Department of the Defense (DOD) to:
- Develop a long-term strategy for protecting Cycas micronesica from A.
yasumatsui. - Collaborate with partners conducting Cycad Aulacaspis Scale (CAS)
predator surveys in the Marianas to understand what species are currently
present and their efficacy and mechanism of controlling CAS. - Identify potential biological control agents to combat the A. yasumatsui
scale insect. - The biological control agents shall include a suite of species with life
history traits and CAS control mechanisms addressing a range of CAS
vulnerabilities and complementary to that of existing control agents (e.g.
Rhyzobius lophanthae). - Recipient shall identify the procedures needed for rearing and introduction
of new biological control agents on Guam and Tinian.
Approximately $251,353.56 is expected to be available to support this project (contingent upon

Statement of Interest (SOI): Evaluating Snow Water Equivalent and Soil Moisture in a Complex Wildfire-Impacted Area of the Rocky Mountains using a Mobile Cosmic Ray Neutron Sensor ERDC seeks applications for data services, research, evaluation, and author services comparing the evolution of snow water equivalent and soil moisture through the water year in burned and unburned areas of the Rocky Mountains using a mobile cosmic ray neutron sensor. The total amount of funding expected to be awarded through this announcement is $248,000. ERDC will only accept SOIs submitted on or before 25 July 2025, 12:00pm Central Time (CT).

The Rocky Mountains Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit annually recognizes "above and beyond” accomplishments by student(s) involved in RM-CESU projects. Nominations may be submitted by any representative of the federal agency that sponsored the project, or by the student’s academic institution. Nominations for Student Award are due August 20, 2025. Glacier National Park Conservancy – Jerry O’Neal Student Research Fellowship -2025 Call
Applications are now being accepted for the Glacier National Park Conservancy – Jerry O'Neal Research Fellowship for work in Glacier National Park. The fellowship aims to provide educational assistance for Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ seeking to understand natural and cultural resources issues and how these interact with human values. Special consideration will be given to proposals that address the following:
- natural resource issues such as aquatic ecology, terrestrial ecology, fire ecology, invasive plants, and climate change
- cultural resource issues, such as history and architectural studies, cultural landscape reports, ethnographic research, and archeology
- social science that informs resource management about a natural or cultural topic and/or that addresses visitor impacts to park resources
Competition is open to graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ or superior upper division undergraduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ at universities and colleges in the . Applicants may request up to $7500. Applications must be submitted electronically by March 19, 2025. See details in the Application Directions.
UW-NPS Research Station announces the 2025 Small Grants Program RFP
The small Grants Program is funded by the National Park Service and the UW-NPS Research Station at the University of Wyoming. It is limited to US academic institutions, government, and NGO researchers conducting their studies in the Greater Yellowstone Area. See for more information, a list of past awards, and a link to annual reports of research going back to 1954.
Grants will be evaluated by a panel of park personnel and faculty in diverse fields based on intellectual merit (will the study advance our understanding in some key way), and strong relevance to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, including and National Park priorities.

Fellowships Available to Students for Research in Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP)
The RMNP Bailey Research Fellowship application period is open to qualified graduate Ñý¼§Ö±²¥ until February 1, 2025. These funds are to be used to conduct research that aids park management at Rocky Mountain NP. To qualify for the fellowship, the applicant must be currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college or university, show excellence in research, have a career interest working with public land managers, exhibit the ability to communicate effectively to general and public audiences, and exhibit a willingness to contribute to the purposes of the RMNP Bailey Research Fellowship and National Park Service. The fellowship includes park housing, a stipend of $12,000 and other reimbursement for research and travel expenses. For information, go to the .
Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation 2025 Student Grant Request for Proposals
The Whitebark Pine Ecosystem Foundation is accepting proposals for the 2025 Student Research Grants. The WPEF research grant provides up to $2,000 in funding to an undergraduate or graduate student (M.S. or Ph.D.) conducting research on any high-elevation, five-needle white pine species. A second research grant, which is funded by philanthropist John Van Gundy, awards $1,000 for research focused on whitebark pine dynamics under climate change. Applications due February 14, 2025.
